Your Kindergartener Will Learn...

Meet Mrs. Doyle

All day kindergarten provides a multi-sensory environment incorporating fun and learning.  Kindergarten has an academic focus but still encompasses and nurtures all the areas of development:  physical, emotional, social, and intellectual.

In kindergarten, your child will learn who they are in relation to God and creation.  Their dignity of being a child made in the image and likeness of God is stressed while children learn basic bible stories which illustrate the basics of the Catholic Faith.

In kindergarten, your child will learn reading, phonics, language arts and writing including how to recognize and name all capital and lowercase letters of the alphabet, identify consonant letter sounds and short vowels sounds with fluency, rhyming, sight word and high-frequency word recognition, develop decoding skills, learn simple sentence structure.

In kindergarten, your child will work on their penmanship by using the Handwriting Without Tears program.

In kindergarten, your child will start to identify numbers in random order from 0-31 with fluency, count to 100 by 1s, addition and subtraction to 10, identify, sort and classify objects, recognizing and creating patterns, identify basic shapes, telling time to the hour and identify coins.

In kindergarten, your child will become aware of the aspects of being a good citizen, the significance of federal holidays and historical figures, recognize national symbols, community helpers, use maps and globes to identify land and water.

In kindergarten, your child will begin to learn seasons of the year and their specific characteristics, weather, plant growth, animal habitats, the five senses.

In, your kindergartener will start to learn Spanish as well as participate in music, physical education, computer and art classes.

“St. Paul’s is not just a school for our family, it is a community. We know our children are getting a quality education from teachers who really care about their future. We also know our children are safe and loved. I wouldn’t send my children to any other school. We love St. Paul’s!”
