Title I Support: Math and Reading Intervention

At St. Paul’s we are fortunate to have a Math and Reading Intervention Specialist who works with our students, grades kindergarten through eighth, 20 hours a week.  In conjunction, we are also a Title I school, and have been blessed with a coordinator and up to five paraprofessional assistants who work with our students, grades kindergarten through third; continuing in fourth and fifth grades if previously identified.  In the past four years, through a close relationship with teachers and parents, we have been able to provide assistance to about 30 students each year, and have seen tremendous successes accordingly.  Our Title I assistants are trained tutors in the Susan Barton Reading and Spelling program and because of funds we receive through Title I, we are the proud owners of the complete program!  Among others, we also use Scott Forseman Early Learning Reading Intervention.  Correspondingly, we have been able to identify and provide early intervention and have promoted upwards of 20 students.
